Students ages 13+ auditioning for the Preparatory Training Center will also be evaluated for The Academy Program during their audition.

Can’t attend an in-person audition? Please email registrar@orlandoballet.org to schedule an appointment. Please note once the school year begins, all placements are by appointment only. Please include the child’s age, birth date, and summary of the dance experience in your email.

Video auditions are also accepted. Please see the section below for more information on how to submit a video audition.

Video Auditions

Video Auditions for the 25-26 School year can be submitted from April 2025 until December 2025. Video audition results will only be valid for the 25-26 school year during this period.

Video Requirements

Approx. 10-15 minutes in length
Barre work: Sampling on one side only.
Center work: Adagio, pirouettes petite and grand allegro
Ladies: Pointe work.
Gentleman: Double tour en l’air and tours a la seconde.
Submissions may be shared via any video platform (YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, etc.). Please ensure the link is publicly viewable or shareable without a password.

Video audition placement results are preliminary and are subject to change or may be adjusted upon arrival and participation in classes.

Trial Classes

Orlando Ballet School offers trial classes as a special opportunity for prospective students to experience our esteemed training program before enrolling. Students will be introduced to our professional faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and thoughtfully designed curriculum. Please note that trial classes are closed to observers to ensure the best possible experience for each student.

FAQs

What to expect at an audition class:

In person placement classes are scheduled during specific class times for evaluation by certified faculty. Students will take a ballet class with other students, and auditionees do not need to prepare a solo or classwork.
Students with pointe experience should bring their shoes for evaluation en pointe during the audition class.
For the comfort and benefit of auditioning students, audition classes are closed to families or viewers.

Audition Attire:

Ladies: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes (optional skin-toned tights with matching ballet shoes). Hair pulled back into ballet bun or similar hairstyle.
Men: White fitted shirt or all in one, black tights, leather belt to roll tights, white ankle socks with white ballet shoes.

When will I receive my results and how long are they valid for:

Results are sent within 3 business days for in person auditions, and up to 10 business days for video submission.
Results are valid for the current school year only, or as otherwise stated on your results.
