JOB TITLE: Front Desk Assistant 

DEPARTMENT: School 

REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager of School Administration  

LOCATION: Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre, 600 N. Lake Formosa Drive, Orlando, FL 32803 

POSITION DATE: August 2026 

POSITION STATUS: Full-time 

SCHEDULE: Mondays-Wednesdays 1-9:15pm, Thursdays 1:30-9:15pm, Saturdays 8:30am-3pm 

COMPENSATION: $16/hour 

BENEFITS: All standard in coordination with employee handbook policies including health insurance for full-time employees 

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role: 

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of School Administration, the Front Desk Assistant will provide a warm and welcoming presence to visitors at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre. They will be stationed at the front desk to welcome, engage, and direct visitors, distribute general information, answer the phone, and provide general administrative assistance.  

 

Orlando Ballet is seeking an independent, highly organized individual with experience in customer service, strong interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting Orlando Ballet in its mission to entertain, educate and enrich through the highest quality of dance. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Welcoming visitors and ensuring they are properly checked in; 
  • Answering phones, forwarding calls or taking messages for staff as needed; 
  • Answering general inquiries about the organization, facility, and parking; 
  • Sign in students for classes; 
  • Taking initiative to assist and direct visitors as needed; 
  • Suggesting opportunities for engaging with Orlando Ballet by taking classes, purchasing tickets, donating, or volunteering; 
  • Monitoring lobby area to ensure smooth operations; 
  • Assist all OB departments with special projects as needed; 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Ability to remain stationary or stand of extended periods while staffing the front desk and assisting visitors. 
  • Ability to move throughout the facility to assist students, families, faculty, and guests. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds including, but not limited to, office supplies, packages, and classroom equipment 
  • Ability to work in a busy, customer-focused environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. 
  • Ability to respond appropriately and efficiently in emergency situations and assist with facility evacuations or safety procedures when necessary. 

Required Qualifications:  

  • 2+ years of prior administrative and/or customer service experience; 
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and communications skills (English speaking required, Spanish speaking a plus); 
  • Proven track record of ability to work independently, with great attention to detail and flexibility, in a fast-paced atmosphere under established time constraints; 
  • Ability to use computer systems, familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • College coursework in business, nonprofit management, or another related field 
  • Experience in a nonprofit or arts environment

JOB TITLE: Manager, Group Sales & Ticketing 

DEPARTMENT: Administration

POSITION DATE: August 2026 

POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, salaried, exempt 

COMPENSATION: $60,000-65,000 

BENEFITS:        All standard in coordination with employee handbook policies 

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role: 

The Manager, Group Sales & Ticketing is responsible for selling ticketed events and other group programs in addition to managing existing client relationships, soliciting new business, and delivering world class customer service to these groups.  This role is also responsible for providing customer service and support to all ticketing patrons of Orlando Ballet attending Orlando Ballet performances and events. This role supervises one direct report, the Ticketing Concierge & Consumer Insights Coordinator.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

Group Sales 

  • Cultivate relationships with new and past group sales clients to grow group business for Orlando Ballet 
  • Promote and sell group tickets to Orlando Ballet performances, overseeing all group sales revenue and KPI goals 
  • Oversee all groups sales activity from development to booking to on-site delivery, acting as key contact as needed to ensure elevated experience 

 

Box Office  

  • Act as main point of contact for guests by having a deep understanding of all ticket packages, policies, procedures, and possible discounts 
  • Serve as primary liaison to Dr. Phillips Center Box Office for all aspects of ticketing operations, including refund/exchange request, valet parking, and additional issues as needed  
  • Oversee and handle ticket sales for all performances, including subscriptions, single tickets, groups, and complimentary tickets  
  • Act as Orlando Ballet primary box office owner, but secondary chair representative during all Orlando Ballet productions, providing a positive and welcoming environment for patrons 
  • Manage the Ticketing Concierge & Consumer Insights Coordinator who leads the day-to-day ticketing operations. 
  • Respond to guest inquiries on an ongoing basis 
  • Coordinate accessibility initiatives for performances 
  • Maintain current knowledge of security practices and PCI compliance 

 

Ticketed Events & Reporting 

  • Own all performance builds through Tessitura 
  • Develop and execute all papering ticketed plans for performances and ticketed events 
  • Lead the creation and management of events in Tessitura, including but not limited to the Spring Showcase, Ballet Ball, “Non-Nutcracker,” and Rise Showcase  
  • Act as lead on the annual subscription renewal process  
  • In partnership with the Director of Marketing & Sales, constantly update pricing levels in line with dynamic pricing strategy to generate greatest possible revenue opportunity for all ticketed events.   
  • Create, implement, track, and manage, promotional codes for performances to enhance audience engagement and ticket sales, while tracking effectiveness in all relevant spreadsheets. 
  • Work with Dr. Phillips Center on donor holds and rezoning processes 
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of dashboards, addressing technical errors for accurate data reporting.  
  • Oversee generation of regular reports on ticket sales, revenue performance, attendance metrics, and customer feedback 
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile ticketing revenue, track expenses, and prepare financial reports 
  • Act as checks and balances to ensure all KBYG comms are up to date, in partnership with Marketing Manager 
  • Act as primary Tessitura Super User for Orlando Ballet 
  • Additional related duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years’ experience working in box office or visitor/customer services 
  • Proficiency in ticketing software (e.g. Tessitura) and familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends 
  • Familiarity with the MAC operating system and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook is required 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to handle a high volume of telephone calls with a polite and professional demeanor 
  • Appreciation of the arts and dance is preferred 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet operational needs

Internships

Overview

The Orlando Ballet Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students meaningful, hands-on experience within a professional performing arts organization. Rooted in Orlando Ballet’s mission to entertain, educate, and enrich through the highest quality of dance, this program provides interns with exposure to variety of departments across the organization.  Interns will gain practical skills, build professional networks, and develop a deeper understanding of nonprofit arts administration and production.

Commitment

Internships are offered during the Fall and Spring semesters and are designed to be flexible to accommodate academic schedules. Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week for at least 12 weeks (some departments may be able to accommodate a shorter internship period with more hours per week).

While internships are unpaid, Orlando Ballet provides a $400 travel stipend upon successful completion of the program. Additional benefits include complimentary tickets and free dance classes during your internship. The organization is also happy to support students seeking academic credit for their internship.

Who Should Apply

The internship program is ideal for college juniors, seniors, or graduate students pursuing degrees in arts administration, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, event management, education, theater production, or related fields. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. Candidates should bring initiative, professionalism, and a genuine interest in the operational life of a performing arts organization.

Internship Areas

Interns may be placed in one of the following departments:

Administration — Gain insight into the organizational infrastructure of a professional ballet company, supporting operations, finance, governance, planning, and internal processes. Responsibilities may include assisting with internal processes, financial tracking, record retention/organization, creating calendar appointments, creating materials for the board of directors, and additional related duties as assigned. Interns will develop a strong understanding of nonprofit operations and gain practical experience in organizational and financial processes.

Marketing — Contribute to audience development, digital content, brand strategy, and campaign execution through project management, digital media archiving, and communications management, while developing an understanding of digital marketing collateral. Responsibilities may include content creation, social media coordination, campaign support, organizing assets, and additional related duties as assigned. Interns will walk away with hands-on experience in arts marketing, content development, and audience engagement strategies.

Merchandise — Support the organization’s retail operations, gaining hands-on experience in inventory management, sales tracking, and customer engagement. Responsibilities may include assisting with merchandise displays, monitoring stock levels, supporting sales during performances and events, and helping to identify trends and opportunities to enhance the patron experience. Interns will develop practical skills in retail operations within a nonprofit arts setting while contributing to revenue generation and brand visibility.

Philanthropy — Support fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts to help advance Orlando Ballet’s development strategy. Responsibilities may include assisting with donor communications, database management, donor research, and stewardship activities. Interns will gain valuable experience in fundraising, relationship management, and nonprofit development practices.

Events — Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of organizational events and provide support for external rental events and venue coordination. Responsibilities may include event logistics, guest services, production support, and coordination of timelines and vendors. In the spring semester, interns will play a key role in supporting the Ballet Ball, a premier $1M+ fundraising gala and one of Central Florida’s most significant arts events. Interns will develop skills in event planning, coordination, and execution within a dynamic performing arts environment.

School —Work alongside the faculty and staff of Orlando Ballet School on customer service, programming, curriculum support, and student engagement. Responsibilities may include supporting student services, registration, communication with families, and daily operations. Interns will develop a working knowledge of arts education administration and student services in a pre-professional training environment.

Community Enrichment — Help extend Orlando Ballet’s reach through outreach programs, partnerships, and education initiatives serving the broader Central Florida community. Responsibilities may include program coordination, participant engagement, and administrative support. Interns will gain experience in community engagement and program delivery, supporting initiatives that expand access to the arts.

Production/Stage Management — Gain behind-the-scenes experience in production planning, scheduling, and the logistical coordination that brings performances to life. Responsibilities may include backstage coordination, production tracking, and general stage management support. Interns will gain firsthand experience in backstage operations, production coordination, and professional stage management practices.

Basic Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate)
  • Ability to commit to at least 12 hours per week for at least 12 weeks
  • Availability for occasional evenings or weekends
  • Interest in performing arts, arts administration and/or nonprofit organizations
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, collaborative, and eager to learn

Production

JOB TITLE: Technical Director

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Director of Production

POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, salaried, exempt

COMPENSATION: $70,000-72,000, commensurate with experience

BENEFITS: All standard in coordination with employee handbook

 

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:

Under the direction of the Director of Production, the Technical Director is responsible for all technical production operations of all Orlando Ballet and Orlando Ballet School performances and engagements, including all special events for departments outside production. Orlando Ballet is seeking a driven, self-motivated highly organized individual, with a commitment to supporting Orlando Ballet in its mission to entertain, educate and enrich through the highest quality of dance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of all physical technical operations, including –
  • Creation of appropriate production and technical paperwork for all Orlando Ballet engagements, including but not limited to:
    • Ground plan & section
    • Lineset schedule
    • IA and non-IA Labor Calls
    • Trucking schedules & packing manifests
    • Any and all relevant support documentation
  • Hands-on fabrication of all scenic, prop, and electrical practical assets as required; produce all relevant technical drawings
  • Coordinate all production equipment logistics; Drive trucks as required (non CDL)
  • Oversee warehousing and storage of all production assets
  • Responsible for all logistical aspects of Orlando Ballet asset rentals. Attend and supervise installations as required
  • Actively manage the installation, focus, programming, and operation of lighting equipment in Orlando Ballet’s studio spaces as necessary
  • Actively manage the installation, use, and storage of Orlando Ballet’s audio and video recording and playback systems
  • Oversee the maintenance of Orlando Ballet scenic and prop inventories, both owned and rented, with all required documentation
  • Building and maintenance of all logistics gear (road boxes)
  • When time allows, the building of outside projects in the shop
  • Additional related duties as assigned by the Director of Production.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Direct and supervise all crews in the ballet’s warehouse and shop, as well as all other ballet locations
  • Direct and supervise all stage crew in the theatre and on tour, with a direct focus on scenery & rigging.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities:
  • Provide research and analysis to aid in the development of the annual production budget
  • Maintain expense budget within boundaries of project budgets.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting of all expenditures, providing support documentation.
  • Track and report timecards for casual labor, both IA and independent contractor
  • Interface with Director of Production to provide cost/ feasibility analysis for new scenic designs/projects
  • Bid projects beyond the scope of Orlando Ballet’s Shop to outside crafts people/artisans or shops

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill in all areas of scenic and prop construction (carpentry, metal work, foam, textile, scenic painting, electrical, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in stage electrics including automated lighting and ETC light console programming
  • Strong knowledge of video cameras and associated A/V equipment for recording, playback (live and recorded), and live stream purposes
  • Computer proficient (Windows and Mac), including drafting (Vectorworks) and audio/video editing & playback software (Qlab)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general stage operations, including load-in, rehearsals, and show run
  • Experience directing crews of varying skill levels and experience (including IA)
  • Ability to drive trucks up to 26’ in length

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Certified for adult and pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED (or be willing to get certified)
