Audition Information
Orlando Ballet School’s Summer Intensive Audition Tour begins in January, visiting various locations across the country, ending in late February. Video auditions are also accepted for those unable to attend onsite.
All non-Orlando Ballet School students are required to audition to be evaluated for acceptance. Once accepted, students may enroll in one of the Summer Intensive Sessions. This applies to all students who have previously attended an Orlando Ballet School Summer Intensive program in the past year. Auditions are required to ensure proper placement and a tailored training experience.

One-Week Jr. Program – Ages 9 to 12
The One-Week Junior Program offers a focused week of training designed to strengthen technique and inspire artistic growth. Led by the Summer Intensive Coordinator, with placement overseen by Orlando Ballet School Director and senior faculty, students take daily classes in ballet, variations or men’s class, jazz, modern, character and conditioning. This program provides a supportive environment where young dancers build confidence, discipline and performance readiness.

Two-Week Ladies and Men's Program – Ages 11 and up
This Two-Week Summer Intensive offers an immersive training experience that builds strength, artistry and discipline. Led by the Summer Intensive Coordinator, with placement overseen by Orlando Ballet School Director and senior faculty, students train daily in ballet technique, variations or men’s class, modern, jazz, character and conditioning, including pilates, yoga and strength work, all in a supportive, professional environment.

Three-Week Program – Ages 11 and up
Designed for intermediate to advanced dancers, the Three-Week Summer Intensive provides rigorous training that deepens technique and enhances performance skills. Led by the Summer Intensive Coordinator, with placement overseen by Orlando Ballet School Director and senior faculty, the program includes daily classes in ballet, variations or men’s class, modern, jazz, character and conditioning. Field trips and enrichment activities round out this immersive experience in a supportive, professional environment.

Five-Week Program – Ages 11 and up
Designed for intermediate to advanced dancers, the Five-Week Summer Intensive offers in-depth training to refine technique and develop artistry. Led by the Summer Intensive Coordinator, with placement overseen by Orlando Ballet School Director and senior faculty, students train daily in ballet, variations, pointe, modern, jazz, character, men’s class, partnering and conditioning. The program includes performance opportunities and enrichment activities in a supportive, professional setting.

Housing FAQ
Students in the Summer Intensive program enjoy housing at Rollins College, just 10 minutes from Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre. Boarding students receive meals on campus and participate in curated field trips to destinations like Cocoa Beach, Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World ® Resort. This immersive experience fosters independence, camaraderie and a deeper connection to the Orlando arts community.

Housing is available as an add on option for students participating in our 2, 3 and 5-Week Intensive programs. Students are not required to utilize our housing option and are free to find their own accommodations if desired.
Summer Intensive housing can be added as a class as part of your student’s registration. Housing is optional and you will need to select the housing option and complete registration to secure housing. Students must be enrolled in BOTH the Summer Intensive Tuition class AND Boarding class to be considered registered for housing. Orlando Ballet School does not follow up with families registered for the tuition class only as housing is an additional add on option.
Housing is located at Rollins College, which is only 10 minutes away from Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre! Rollins College is located at 1000 Holt Ave, Winter Park, FL, 32789.
Bussing will be provided for boarding students to get to and from the Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre. If a student is assigned to have class at the Rollins Dance studio one day, they will walk over to the on-campus studio with an Resident Assistant.

Strong Hall 219/220/221
- Location: Corner of French Avenue and Holt Avenue
- Room Types: doubles and singles
- Building Features: Suite-style bathrooms, elevator, lounge, and kitchen
- Furnishings: Extra-long twin bed, closet, dresser, desk, desk chair, and window blinds. No bedding/decorations are included.
Corrin Hall
- Location: Corner of French Avenue and Holt Avenue – next to Strong Hall
- Room Types: doubles and singles
- Building Features: Suite-style bathrooms, lounge, and kitchen
- Furnishings: Extra-long twin bed, closet, dresser, desk, desk chair, and window blinds. No bedding/decorations are included
Cross Hall
- Location: Along Holt Avenue, directly next to Strong Hall
- Capacity: Doubles and singles
- Building Features: Community bathrooms, lounge, and kitchen
- Furnishings: Extra-long twin bed, closet, dresser, desk, desk chair, and window blinds. No bedding/decorations are included.
Students are welcome to bring decorations for their dorm rooms. However, please refrain from bringing any items that need to hang or be affixed to the walls. Any damages that are found at the time of check out will be charged to the student’s online account.
Housing is available to all students who decide to attend our 2, 3, and 5-Week Summer Intensive programs.
We understand that several of our students attending the Summer Intensive will be 18 years or older. If a student decides to board at Rollins College for the duration of the Summer Intensive, they will be held to all rules and regulations put in place by the Orlando Ballet School staff and appointed Resident Assistant’s regardless of age.
Yes, all housing students will be assigned a Resident Assistant. There will be one Resident Assistant for every 10 – 12 students. All Resident Assistants will report to a Dorm Supervisor who will be on campus each night the students are in the dorms.
Yes, during registration you will have the ability to request a roommate for the Summer Intensive. Please note that we will do our best to accommodate all requests, but there is no guarantee.
If no roommate(s) are requested, students will be grouped by gender and age.
Single rooms are very limited in the dorms listed above. We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but there is no guarantee that a single room will be available and assigned.
Housekeeping will come through the buildings to clean the common areas and kitchen areas. It is the student’s responsibility to keep their rooms and bathrooms clean throughout their stay. Cleaning supplies will be available for students to use and clean room checks will be conducted by Orlando Ballet School staff regularly to help promote a clean and healthy living environment.
Yes, boarding students will receive breakfast and dinner at the dining hall on Rollins campus. A boxed lunch will be provided by the dining hall to take to Orlando Ballet for lunchtime. There will be select days where lunch and dinner will not be provided due to an optional off campus activity. Students will be made aware of days when these meals will not be available and they will have to make other arrangements. If you have a food allergy, you will be able to let us know through your registration. We will work directly with the dining hall to accommodate any food allergies you may have.
Yes, there will be scheduled field trips for Saturday evenings as well as on Sundays. Trips range from a trip to Cocoa Beach to visiting Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World ® Resort.
Summer Intensive students driving by themselves to Orlando may keep their vehicles on campus during the program. The student’s car keys must be turned into the Dorm Supervisor upon check-in and they will return them to the student upon check-out. Resident Assistants may also have vehicles on campus. Resident Assistants are permitted to use their vehicles during the program for Orlando Ballet School Summer Intensive related travel. However, all students who bring a vehicle are not permitted to transport other students in their vehicle for any reason. Parking passes must be arranged in advance and can be purchased through your registration. Parking passes have an additional fee of $10 per week.
