Camps & Dance Classes

Orlando Ballet School’s spring & summer program registration is now open. No matter what level, age or style you are looking for, there is something for everyone!

Spring Camps

Offering a Jr. camp option for ages 3-5, and a both half day or full day option for ages 6-12, the Dance Camp at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre is designed to provide our younger students exposure to ballet training and other forms of dance.

Our Jr. camp is designed for the youngest dancer with a focus on coordination, balance, rhythm, flexibility, and basic kinetic skills, as well as creative expression through dance. Students age 6-12 will have intense ballet training along with classes such as jazz, musical theater, tap and more. All Students will end the day with time for arts and craft to take home.

Students must be age 3 as of January 1st to participate in the Jr camp option. Students must be age 6 as of January 1st to participate in the ages 6-12 half day or full day camp option.

Dress code:

Girls – Any solid-colored leotard or OBS uniform, ballet tights, and shoes. Long hair must be in a neat ballet bun.

Boys – All in one or White fitted shirt with black tights or black biker shorts. Black or White Ballet shoes with matching socks.

What to bring:

Full Day & Half Day Students:

  • Snack & Lunch (Please note that a refrigerator or microwave is not made available for lunches).
    • Half-Day students only need to pack snacks as pick up is during lunch time.
  • Yoga Mat or Towel
  • Water Bottle
  • An art apron or a t-shirt for arts and crafts to protect your uniform.

Jr. Camp Students:

  • Snack

Summer Camps

Students enrolled in the Full day, two-week program will present a showcase performance for family and friends to attend. Please note that Jr. campers, half day campers or one-week campers are not eligible to participate for in the summer camp showcase.

Students must be age 3 as of June 1st to participate in the Jr camp option. Students must be age 6 as of June 1st to participate in the ages 6-12 half day or full day camp option.

Young Dancer/Intro to Ballet Summer

The 8-week Young Dancer and Intro to Ballet summer session provides ballet classes for both new and returning students at Orlando Ballet School. No prior experience is necessary to join the class. Students will study ballet technique by learning terminology and performing exercises to gain coordination, balance, flexibility, and musicality.

Students enroll based on their age as of June 1st.

Dress Code

Baby & Me – No uniform required. We recommend that the student and parent attend class in athletic wear or dance attire that they can comfortably and safely move in. We discourage necklaces and long earrings for safety purposes.

Ages 3-8 years old:

Girls – Any solid-colored leotard, ballet tights and split sole ballet shoes. Hair should be in a neat ballet bun and pulled away from face.

Boys –White fitted shirt with black tights or black biker shorts. White or Black Ballet shoes with matching color socks.

Evening Summer

The Evening Ballet Summer Session is for experienced or knowledgeable dance students ages 7+. Students with prior experience can enroll into the program based on their age and OBS placement or experience level. Classes are structured to maintain and strengthen technique. Students can register for all 7 weeks, at a weekly basis, or can drop-in daily.

Please note that OBS faculty have the right to adjust a student’s level or session for the safety of the student, including approval for pointe work in level 3+ program, regardless of prior training.
