Housing

Orlando Ballet School does not have dormitories, and housing is at the responsibility of the student and their family. The Head of Student Services will be able to assist families with additional resources for both nearby housing options and roommate forums.

Please note that there are some restrictions and specific application requirements for international students that can cause difficulty in approval of a lease. Orlando Ballet, Orlando Ballet School and any staff member is not able to sign leases as a guarantor for international or any students.

Roommate and Housing Forum

Registered students can be added to our housing forum where they can meet and discuss with other incoming students’ opportunities for roommates or living situations. To avoid complications, only enrolled and committed students are added to the forum.

EDUCATION OPTIONS FOR ACADEMY STUDENTS

The full day Academy, Trainee and OBII programming will likely require highschool students to enroll in virtual or homeschooling options. Many students remain enrolled in their home state or country’s virtual school programming or enroll in Florida virtual school to complete their academic obligations. The decision on the academic programming is up to the attending student and their family. OBS houses an on site study hall for students who need to complete their academic work between classes. There is not an academic advisor on site to manage or oversee a student’s school work.

The health and wellness of all Orlando Ballet School students is of utmost importance to us. The Head of Student Services can provide a variety or resources to students who are experiencing any challenges to their physical or mental wellbeing are welcome to reach out to the Head of Student Services staff member to be directed to available resources.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Visa Information

Orlando Ballet School is approved by the US Department of Immigration to enroll foreigners on the F-1 student visa. The minimum period for this visa is one year and must be renewed a month prior to its expiration date.
To obtain your visa, the student must first complete the International student application form and return with processing fee ($90) to OBS in order to obtain an I-20 form. Once the form and processing fee is received, you will receive your I-20 in 7-10 business days.
Once you receive your I-20, you may schedule an appointment with the consulate in your country. Please see your country’s requirements on type of paperwork needed to bring to your appointment. Typically a passport, the I-20, birth certificate are needed but some countries may require additional items.
