He brings his unique sense of drama to the process of selecting each production for audiences to experience the full scope of today’s live ballet with masterful choreography, lush musical scores, stunning sets and costumes, and talented dancers.

Community Enrichment S.T.E.P.S. Showcase | Volunteer

 Volunteer Position Description

Position Title: Volunteers for Orlando Ballet’s Community Enrichment S.T.E.P.S. Showcase 

Reports to: Community Enrichment Administrative Coordinator Location: Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre, 600 North Lake Formosa Drive, Orlando, FL 32803 

Purpose: The volunteers for Orlando Ballet’s Community Enrichment’s S.T.E.P.S. Showcase help to provide a welcoming and safe presence for all patrons. The volunteers will assist all patrons of the ballet with concession, ticketing, ushering, flower sales, backstage assistants, set-up, and break down as well. 

Time Commitment: 

Concession Attendant April 27, 2022 – 3:15 – 6:00 pm 

Ushers April 27, 2022 – 3:00-6:30 pm 

Check In/donations Table Attendants April 27, 2022 – 3:15 -6:00 pm 

Flower Arranger/Flower Sales Table Attendants April 27, 2022 – 3:00-6:30 pm 

Backstage Assistants April 27, 2022 – 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm 

Responsibilities: 

Concession: 

  • • Help to uphold COVID protocols 
  • • Help with set up and break down of tables, chairs, drinks, snacks, etc. 
  • • Keep wait lines moving. 
  • • Replenish snacks and drinks as needed. 
  • • Collecting money and tendering change 

Ushers: 

  • Help with set up and break down of tables, chairs, stations, etc. 
  • • Keep wait lines moving. 
  • • Usher patrons to seats. 
  • • Answer miscellaneous questions: bathroom location, show start time, end time, parking 

questions 

Check-In/Donations Table Attendant(s): • Collecting donations and donor information • Welcoming guests to Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre 

Flower Arranger/Flower Sales Table Attendant(s): • Arranging carnations before the house opening • Selling individual flowers/carnations to guests for their performer 

Backstage Assistant(s): 

  • • Assisting the stage manager with preparing dancers backstage 
  • • Ensuring the stage is clear between dances before another dance begins 
  • • Supervising dancers in backstage areas 
  • • Ensuring dancers have all costumes and are quiet while backstage 

Volunteer Qualifications or Requirements: 

Concessions: 

  • • Must be fluent in the English language (communication). 
  • • Friendly, energetic, and flexible with a desire to interact with patrons of the ballet. 
  • • Experience with making purchases. 
  • Experience quickly serving snacks. 
  • Know when to re-stock snacks to best manage wait times. 
  • Are independent, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision. 
  • • Enjoy the art of ballet and dance. 

Ushers: 

  • • Must be fluent in the English language (communication). 
  • Friendly, energetic, and flexible with a desire to interact with patrons of ballet. 
  • • Can move quickly to help patrons get to their seats. 
  • • Have patience with patrons that may need extra assistance. 
  • Are independent, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision. 
  • • Enjoy the art of ballet and dance. 

Flower Arranger/Flower Sales Table Attendant(s): 

• Must be fluent in the English language (communications) • Friendly, energetic, and flexible with a desire to interact with patrons of ballet. • Can move quickly to help patrons get their flowers • Experience with flower arranging 

• Are independent, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision. • Enjoy the art of ballet and dance 

Backstage Assistant(s): 

  • • Must be fluent in the English language (communications) 
  • • Friendly, energetic, and flexible with a desire to interact with children/teens. 
  • • Can move quickly to help students to and from the stage 
  • Experience with performing or backstage 
  • Are independent, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision. 
  • • Enjoy the art of ballet and dance
