Orlando Ballet School’s Young Dancer Division is for students ages 18 months through 12 years old. From young toddlers to pre-teens, the goal of this division is for dancers to gradually learn the fundamental movements through the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. Students will obtain technique, strength, and flexibility. Students ages 7+ require a placement to determine the appropriate level.

BABY AND ME

BABY AND ME

Must be age 18 months-thru age 3 by September 1st

Class Description

Introduce them to the magic of dance while enjoying the company of other parents and babies in our studio. This 45-minute class focuses on coordination, direction, balance, dance movement, and rhythm concepts that are great for early development of kinetic skills. It will also introduce discipline while they learn to dance alongside other students. Designed for one dancer and one parent or designated guardian, this class is perfect for moms, dads and other immediate family for exercise and bonding with their little one.  

Limit: Two attendees per registration only. (1 parent with registered student)

Class Description

A fun class for 2.5-year-old children without parent participation. Since children naturally respond to music and movement, the activities are presented through music. This 45-minute class consists of movement activities meant to develop coordination, direction, balance, and rhythm through fantasy and the utilization of colorful props. It is a perfect preparation for our Pre-Primary 3 class as it introduces some very basic ballet vocabulary in a creative setting for your child’s imagination. Due to the nature of the course and student’s age, pre-primary 2.5 students do not have a showcase performance.

This structured program is designed for the early development of technical ballet and movement. It provides a carefully paced sequence of exercises to develop physical conditioning with poise and grace. In the program, children learn self-discipline, listening skills, coordination skills, left and right discrimination and patterns in movement.

Students take 3 classes, 2 days per week. These classes ensure the student’s understanding of the fundamental movement methods. Students will advance according to individual progress in obtaining technique, strength, and flexibility. As students’ progress, they will be presented with a more challenging ballet vocabulary and quicker pace. It is designed to elevate the dance student’s knowledge of ballet.
