Ages 18 months-12 years / Levels Baby & Me-Level 2

Orlando Ballet School’s Preparatory Program is for students ages 18 months through 12 years old. From young toddlers to pre-teens, the goal of this division is for dancers to gradually learn the fundamental movements through the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. Students will obtain technique, strength, and flexibility.

Students ages 7+ require a placement to determine the appropriate level. Students age 6 and below register based on their age as of September 1st.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration opens May 30th for the upcoming school year. Registration closes on January 31st.

Classes that are full will be notated with a waitlist option or as unavailable during registration.

Families that need to book a placement class for their student (age 7+) should visit our placement website HERE to see available dates are reserve their audition class.

The Registration Fee and the 1st tuition installment are due upon enrolling to reserve the students spot.  A valid credit card is required to be saved on file to complete registration.

Families may opt to pay in full with a 5% tuition discount by notating their selection during registration or emailing registrar@orlandoballet.org. The 5% Sibling discount is automatically applied to the second student during enrollment.

BABY AND ME

BABY AND ME

Must be age 18 months-thru age 3 by September 1st

 

Class Description

Introduce them to the magic of dance while enjoying the company of other parents and babies in our studio. This 45-minute class focuses on coordination, direction, balance, dance movement, and rhythm concepts that are great for early development of kinetic skills. It will also introduce discipline while they learn to dance alongside other students. Designed for one dancer and one parent or designated guardian, this class is perfect for moms, dads and other immediate family for exercise and bonding with their little one.

Limit: Two attendees per registration only. (1 parent with registered student)

No uniform required. We recommend that the student and parent attend class in athletic wear or dance attire that they can comfortably and safely move in.

There is no showcase performance for Baby & Me participants

PRE-PRIMARY FOR 2.5-YEAR-OLDS

PRE-PRIMARY 2.5

Class Description

A fun class for 2.5-year-old children without parent participation. Since children naturally respond to music and movement, the activities are presented through music. This 45-minute class consists of movement activities meant to develop coordination, direction, balance, and rhythm through fantasy and the utilization of colorful props. It is a perfect preparation for our Pre-Primary 3 class as it introduces some very basic ballet vocabulary in a creative setting for your child’s imagination. Due to the nature of the course and student’s age, pre-primary 2.5 students do not have a showcase performance.

Class Description

Class Description

This structured program is designed for the early development of technical ballet and movement. It provides a carefully paced sequence of exercises to develop physical conditioning with poise and grace. In the program, children learn self-discipline, listening skills, coordination skills, left and right discrimination and patterns in movement.

Class Description

This ballet class for the young dancer focuses on coordination, balance, rhythm, flexibility, and basic kinetic skills, as well as creative expression through dance. The class is set to music and will introduce students to the foundational steps and vocabulary of ballet.

Class Description

This ballet class introduces basic classical movements while building strength, rhythmic skills, and discipline. Ballet vocabulary and technique is taught through barre and center floor work, including movements across the floor.

Class Description

Students take 3 classes, 2 days per week. These classes ensure the student’s understanding of the fundamental movement methods. Students will advance according to individual progress in obtaining technique, strength, and flexibility. As students’ progress, they will be presented with a more challenging ballet vocabulary and quicker pace. It is designed to elevate the dance student’s knowledge of ballet.

Different schedule sessions are notated by the number following the level name. I.e. Primary C-1, Primary C-2 are all the same level, but meet on different days. Students cannot mix and match sessions.
