Orlando Ballet School prepares aspiring professionals through a rigorous and supportive training program rooted European Methodology. Following placement, students advance their technique through a structured program that emphasizes expressive upper-body movement inspired by Americanized Russian ballet. Under the guidance of internationally acclaimed faculty, dancers refine their strength, precision and artistry across all aspects of classical technique.

As dancers progress through The Academy’s comprehensive levels, they gain performance experience through seasonal productions, community showcases and international competitions — emerging as versatile, stage-ready artists prepared to perform around the world.

The Academy Program

Admittance to The Academy is by audition only for dancers ages 13 and up. After auditions, students will be placed into the appropriate level based on age and ability. Registration is now open for the 25/26 school year.

Academy 4B

Students in Academy – Level 4B Program are ages 12 and up. They complete their academics through virtual learning programs and train 18 to 20 hours per week. In addition to classical ballet technique, dancers also study pointe, variations, modern, contemporary and character.

Academy – Level 5

Students in The Academy – Level 5 Program are ages 14 and up. They complete their academics through virtual learning programs and train 22 to 24 hours per week. In addition to classical ballet technique, dancers also study pointe, variations, pas de deux, modern, contemporary and character.

Academy – Level 6

Students in The Academy – Level 6 are ages 15 and up. They complete their academics through virtual learning programs and train 22 to 24 hours per week. In addition to classical ballet technique, dancers also study pointe, variations, pas de deux, modern, contemporary and character. This level is for students aimed at professional careers or competitive university programs.

Orlando Ballet Trainees

Trainees – Level 7

The Trainee Program is the top level of Orlando Ballet School’s Academy program. This highly competitive program merit scholarship covered program is made up of 16 dancers chosen from within Orlando Ballet School and national auditions. These young dancers are one step away from a professional career. Additionally, trainees have numerous performance opportunities with Orlando Ballet School as well as in community events and outreach programs. Trainees may also be selected to understudy or participate in Orlando Ballet company performances.

OBII

OBII is the highest level of Orlando Ballet School and admission is by audition only. Dancers train and perform alongside the professional company, bridging the gap between the Trainee Program and a professional career in ballet.
