Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Marketing & Sales oversees all marketing, communications, ticketing, and sales operations for the organization—driving visibility, deepening engagement, and generating the majority of earned revenue for the Ballet.

This role directly influences and drives over 70% of the organization’s annual revenue through ticketing, enrollment, and earned-income strategies.

The Director oversees both the Marketing & Communications and Sales & Ticketing departments, and is responsible for performance marketing, brand strategy, customer experience, audience development, public relations, digital channels, and research/insights.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Marketing & Communications

Oversees the strategic direction and execution of all brand, content, PR, digital, creative, and communications initiatives.

  • Brand Strategy & Campaign Creative
    • Partner with the Artistic Director to shape and oversee the creative direction of all annual season campaigns
    • Ensure consistency of brand voice, visual identity, and storytelling across all channels and programs
    • Oversee creative agency including campaign development, branding, and design support
    • Supervise the in-house creative process, including direction for graphic design, print, and digital assets
  • Digital Marketing, Website & Influencer Engagement
    • Oversee digital marketing strategy, including SEO, SEM, paid social, organic content, and email marketing
    • Oversee the website strategy and infrastructure, ensuring conversion-driven, user-friendly experiences
    • Oversee paid advertising efforts across channels via Think Integrated
    • Direct the influencer marketing strategy and engagement with influencer agency
  • Communications & Public Relations
    • Oversee all public-facing communications including email, announcements, newsletters, and invitations
    • Direct PR strategy with general PR partner and Sara Brady PR for crisis communications
    • Collaborate with Development on integrated donor and campaign messaging, including appeals, stewardship, and event communications
  • Partner Event Activations & Community Engagement
    • Oversee all marketing-related partner event activations in collaboration with the Events Manager, ensuring on-brand presence and fulfillment
    • Cultivate and lead partnerships with community organizations, tourism groups, local chambers, key hotels, and destination marketing partners
    • Collaborate on cross-promotional campaigns that expand brand reach and position Orlando Ballet as a “must-see” entertainment offering/ top dance education option
    • Develop and execute strategic corporate sponsorship initiatives in alignment with organizational goals, including customized activation opportunities, brand alignment strategies, and measurable ROI for sponsors

 

Sales & Ticketing

Oversees earned revenue strategy, customer experience, ticketing systems, and performance/school sales planning.

  • Ticketing Strategy & Operations
    • Oversee all performance-based and program-based ticketing needs for:
      • Phillips Center mainstage performances
      • Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre events
      • Orlando Ballet School showcases and recitals
    • Direct the implementation and optimization of CRM and ticketing platform, Tessitura
    • Ensure the customer journey is seamless and aligned with the brand—from pre-purchase to post-performance
  • Revenue Planning & Sales Strategy
    • Oversee performance and school P&Ls; drive strategies that meet or exceed established revenue targets
    • Develop pricing, promotions, and segmentation strategies to maximize yield and expand household participation
    • Optimize conversion rates across sales campaigns through cross-sell, upsell, and audience segmentation tactics
    • Oversee Box Office/Patron Services to strengthen retention and service models
  • Customer Communications & Experience
    • Direct all transactional and experiential communications to ensure high satisfaction and alignment with marketing messaging
    • Oversee the collection and analysis of post-performance surveys and other customer feedback
    • Ensure audience-centric messaging across platforms that supports retention and deepens engagement
  • Research & Insights
    • Direct audience research strategy in partnership with Alexander Babbage
    • Use data and insights to inform audience development, segmentation, content planning, pricing, and experience design
    • Oversee the creation of dashboards and regular reporting for internal stakeholders and the Executive Director

 

Organizational Leadership

  • Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Executive Director
  • Collaborate with peers across departments to ensure marketing/sales alignment with institutional goals
  • Attend Board of Directors meetings and engage with Board-led committees as appropriate
  • Represent organization at industry events, civic engagements, and key partner convenings
  • Serve as company spokesperson as appropriate

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Passion for the arts, particularly dance, and a deep commitment to Orlando Ballet’s mission and community impact
  • 5–7 years of senior-level experience in marketing, ticketing, and revenue strategy roles
  • Proven track record of success in earned revenue growth, audience development, performance marketing, and brand strategy execution
  • Demonstrated experience leading data-driven campaigns, utilizing segmentation, targeting, and performance measurement to drive outcomes
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems and audience lifecycle strategies; familiarity with Tessitura or similar platforms strongly preferred
  • Strategic and creative thinker who takes initiative and delivers measurable results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Philanthropy Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Philanthropy Coordinator

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:

The Philanthropy Coordinator is an entry-level position designed for an energetic, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about philanthropy, dance, and the performing arts. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the Philanthropy department, assisting the Individual Giving Officer and Major Gifts Officer with donor engagement, data management, and event coordination. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the Coordinator plays a vital role in helping Orlando Ballet achieve its mission to entertain, educate, and enrich through the highest quality of dance.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and update donor records in Tessitura, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in preparing donor acknowledgment letters, stewardship materials, and benefit fulfillment.
  • Develop targeted invitation lists for cultivation and benefit events using Tessitura, ensuring alignment with donor engagement strategies and philanthropy team objectives.
  • Support the planning and logistics of donor cultivation and recognition events.
  • Help manage the Philanthropy department calendar and coordinate with Marketing on communications.
  • Support the philanthropy team in preparing for upcoming performances and events by assisting in the creation of Surprise and Delight bags and RSVP reports to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Generate and analyze fundraising and giving reports using Tessitura to inform strategic decisions and enhance donor engagement efforts.
  • Conduct prospect research and wealth screening using tools such as iWave.
  • Track and report on gift officer portfolio activity in alignment with moves management practices.
  • Provide administrative support for the United Arts Collaborative Campaign and other initiatives.
  • Attend performances and events to support donor engagement and cultivation.
  • Manage the Orlando Ballet volunteer program by coordinating volunteer outreach, gathering staffing needs from team members, and recruiting new volunteers to support organizational initiatives.
  • Support the Orlando Ballet Ambassador and Amigos programs by coordinating events and cultivating new members with staff and committee collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy Fellow and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist in refining and documenting standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, arts administration, communications, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Tessitura, Prospect II, and Basecamp preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about philanthropy, dance, and the performing arts.

Front Desk Assistant

JOB TITLE: Front Desk Assistant

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:

Under the direction of the School Administrative Manager, the Front Desk Assistant will provide a warm and welcoming presence to visitors at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre. They will be stationed at the front desk to welcome, engage, and direct visitors, distribute general information, answer the phone, and provide general administrative assistance.

Orlando Ballet is seeking an independent, highly organized individual with experience in customer service, strong interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting Orlando Ballet in its mission to entertain, educate and enrich through the highest quality of dance.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming visitors and ensuring they are properly checked in;
  • Answering phones, forwarding calls or taking messages for staff as needed;
  • Answering general inquiries about the organization, facility, and parking;
  • Sign in students for classes;
  • Taking initiative to assist and direct visitors as needed;
  • Suggesting opportunities for engaging with Orlando Ballet by taking classes, purchasing tickets, donating, or volunteering;
  • Monitoring lobby area to ensure smooth operations;
  • Assist all OB departments with special projects as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of prior administrative and/or customer service experience;
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and communications skills (English speaking required, Spanish speaking a plus);
  • Proven track record of ability to work independently, with great attention to detail and flexibility, in a fast-paced atmosphere under established time constraints;
  • Ability to use computer systems, familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • College coursework in business, nonprofit management, or another related field

Under the guidance of the Manager, Marketing & Communications, the Intern, Marketing will provide essential support to the Marketing team. This position will focus on a myriad of marketing, brand, and communications projects. Candidates should be enthusiastic and highly organized with a passion for marketing and a commitment to aiding Orlando Ballet in its mission to entertain, educate, and enrich through the highest quality of dance.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute comprehensive marketing plans to promote Orlando Ballet.
  • Maintain partner site listings to ensure accurate and consistent representation of Orlando Ballet across all partner sites.
  • Maintain all community calendar listings to ensure events are accurately represented.

Community Enrichment Teaching Artist

JOB TITLE: Community Enrichment Teaching Artist

POSITION STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt, approximately 1 to 10 hours per week

 

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Community Enrichment, Teaching Artists are practicing artists in the disciplines of dance, music, theatre, and visual arts who are committed to working with young people. Orlando Ballet’s various Community Enrichment programs bring high-quality arts enrichment to a variety of groups throughout Central Florida by working through established after-school, year-round programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, City of Orlando Community Centers, Orange, Seminole and Osceola County schools, and other locations.   Applicants must demonstrate expertise working as professional artists, a strong commitment to working with educators and young people, strong communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to facilitate group decision-making, an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and executing arts programming appropriate for specific age groups.
  • Direct instruction with students which could range from VPK through senior citizens.
  • Attending professional development sessions and meetings.
  • Carrying out administrative responsibilities (such as: submission of written lesson plans, assessments, teaching schedules, program forms, and other duties as assigned).

Schedule & Compensation:  

Teaching Artists are typically hired for a semester-long program. Applicants must have availability to work during and after school hours, as well as occasional weekends, with an ability to travel throughout Central Florida to various workshop sites. Teaching Artists earn $40/hour of instruction and a $10/roundtrip stipend for travel. Workshop classes are generally 1 to 1.5 hours long and residencies vary in length but range from 8 to 12 weeks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum (2) years teaching artists experience and/or substantial training in dance education.
  • Strong content knowledge in classical ballet, performance and stage work.
  • Commitment to serving children in typically under-represented communities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with adults and children.
  • Experience with multiple age groups, varying educational settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of a second dance discipline including, but not limited to hip hop, modern, contemporary, tap, Caribbean or Latin cultural dance.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Experience working with dual language learners.
  • Easy travel access to Osceola and Seminole Counties.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Will be subject to a background check.
  • Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to off-site programs and events. Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
