SEBASTIAN MARRIOTT-SMITH

Sebastian Marriott-Smith (Nottingham, England) began ballet at age three and by age seven had become a Royal Ballet School Junior Associate before performing in Sir Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker with Birmingham Royal Ballet at the 02 Arena, London. He was accepted at age 10 into The Royal Ballet Lower School, where he performed in The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. At age 15, he was accepted into the Upper School where he attended master classes from Royal Ballet principal dancers including Steven McRae, Edward Watson and Alexander Campbell and performed in Sir Anthony Dowell’s The Sleeping Beauty at The Royal Opera House. Sebastian also received regular exposure to working with world-renowned choreographers including the late Liam Scarlett, Andrew McNicol and Didy Veldman. In 2021, Sebastian chose to train with English National Ballet School and worked with Northern Ballet on their production of Swan Lake. Former principal with The Royal Ballet, Viviana Durante, selected him to perform the Pas de Trois in Sir Frederick Ashton’s Les Rendezvous in ENBS’s graduation performance. Graduating into English National Ballet, he was involved in the creation and performances of Tamara Rojo’s World Premiere of Raymonda and performed Waltz of the Flowers in Wayne Eagling’s The Nutcracker, both at the London Coliseum. He has worked with the UK’s four largest ballet companies and had the pleasure of meeting and working with William Forsythe whilst at ENB, who staged Playlist EP at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London in April 2022. During his season with OBII, his repertoire expanded to include Michael Pink’s Dracula; The Nutcracker, Jorden Morris’ Moulin Rouge®, The Ballet, and the character of Jeff in Anabelle Lopez Ochoa’s A Streetcar Named Desire.
