Kim Marsh

Kim Marsh began her studies in Orlando under Edith Royal at Royal School of Dance. She studied ballet, jazz, modern, tap and acrobats. Upon graduation she continued her education at Virginia Intermont College under Constance Hardinge, then transferred to University of Iowa under Francoise Martinet, a charter member of Joffery Ballet, where she graduated with a B.A. in Dance. She attended summers at Harkness Ballet with a full scholarship, and Jacobs Pillow.

After Graduation Ms Marsh joined Milwaukee Ballet where she danced many soloist and principal roles for 14 years. She has performed full length works such Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, as well as many Balanchine works. She also performed works by Anthony Tudor, Gerald Arpino, Robert Joffery, Michael Smuin, Choo San Goh, Bruce Wells, Jean Paul Comelin, Lisa De Ribere, Martin Van Hamel, David Parsons and Katheryn Posin.

While at Milwaukee Ballet Ms. Marsh also staged David Parsons Bachiana on the Company and taught for the school and for the Milwaukee Ballet Summer Intensive. She helped to develop an outreach program for school children and was part of the inaugural performance of Gathering on the Green which paired the Milwaukee Ballet with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for a summer performance.

After her retirement from the stage, Ms. Marsh moved back to Orlando and joined Orlando Ballet School in 2003. She has worked with three School Directors since arriving at OBS, Peter Stark, Diedre Miles Burger, and current School Director Phillip Broomhead. She has been the Principal of the Central School and Assistant to the School Director She was part of the teams that developed the OBII and Trainee Programs and the OBS Academy Programs.

Ms. Marsh is an ABT Certified Teacher through Level 7 and Partnering. She organizes the schools’ exams and was recently asked to join the ABT NTC Board of Examiners. She also works with faculty to maintain and/or advance their Certification status.

During her time with OBS Ms Marsh has had the pleasure to train and coach many students that are now dancing all over the world. She has also had students with high acclaim in Prix de Lausanne, YAGP, UBC, and ADC/IBC.

Ms. Marsh is currently Head of the Academy Program where she is committed to providing the best Ballet training with joy and positivity. She enjoys working with the students to help them reach their full potential as dancers and people.
