ISRAEL ZAVALETA ESCOBEDO

ISRAEL ZAVALETA ESCOBEDO – (Mexico City, Mexico) began his dance career in his family’s dance company Ballet Folklorico Texcoco de Noe Zavaleta, and at age 10 tried his first ballet class. He trained at Academy de la Danza Mexicana, and participated in both Joffrey Ballet’s summer intensive and Idyllwild’s Arts Academy summer program. He placed second in International Dance Competition Attitude; second place at Concurso Nacional de Ballet Infantil y Juvenil de Mexico and first place at the semi-finals in Tampa for Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP). He competed at International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi IBC and International Ballet and Choreography China IBCC. Israel is American Ballet Theatre (ABT) certified and teaches the Men’s Ballet Class for OBII, Trainees and Academy at Orlando Ballet School. Israel danced in his first principal role as Mowgli in Toni Pimble’s Jungle Book, then as Jonathan Harker in Michael Pink’s Dracula, Nick Carraway in Artistic Director Jorden Morris’ The Great Gatsby, and Toulouse Lautrec in Morris’ Moulin Rouge® The Ballet.
This is Israel’s fifth season with Orlando Ballet.
