Gonzalo Espinoza

Gonzalo Espinoza was born in Venezuela. He joined the Ballet Metropolitan of Caracas in 1986, and was asked to join the National Ballet of Venezuela in 1989. Espinoza joined Ballet Nuevo Mundo in 1990 and was promoted to soloist the following year. He has danced principal roles with Cleveland Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley, and has done extensive work with Dancing Wheels, a group encompassing both wheel chaired and non-wheel chaired dancers. A prolific choreographer, he has created works for Orlando Ballet School, Sacramento Ballet, Cleveland San Jose Ballet School, as well as for other regional companies. Espinoza has held the positions of Assistant School Director at Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley, and Artistic Director of Western Ballet. Espinoza is credited with challenging and inspiring students as well as raising the level of professionalism to which they aspire. Espinoza has taught master classes at dance conferences and festivals. He worked with the School of Nashville Ballet and Nashville Ballet from 2007 until 2011. In addition to all his other accomplishments, Espinoza held the Ballet Master position at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia from 2011 to 2013. Currently, he is the Assistant to the Orlando Ballet School Director, Head of the Trainee Program and School Choreographer.
