Amyia Burrell

Amyia Burrell is a proud Actors Equity Association member who most recently performed with the National Broadway Tour of Disney’s The Lion King. She is certified in American Ballet Theatre Curriculum Levels Pre-Primary-Level 3, Lester Horton Modern Curriculum, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Burrell has trained with dance legends such as Tina Landon, Lula Washington, Debbie Allen, Milton Myers, Lady Leah Lafargue, Diane Maroney-Grigsby, Gus Giordano, Abdel Salaam, Petrus Bosman, Birute Barodicate, Garth Fagan, Ana Marie Forsythe and many more.

After spending over a decade with The Lion King National Tour Burrell settled in Orlando, FL and began teaching dance and performing arts. Burrell is extremely proud to serve as the Head of the Young Dancer Division at Orlando Ballet School. She also teaches Musical Theatre, Voice, and Dance at The Dr Phillips Center School of the Arts and guest teaches at many other schools and studios. She has served as an instructor/adjudicator for Orange County Public Schools All County Dance, Florida Dance Education Organization, and Dr Phillips High School. Burrell choreographed the closing group number for the 2019 Applause Awards and served as an instructor for Disney Musicals in Schools 2018-2020.

Burrell studied BioMedical Engineering at Mercer University and holds a certificate in Artist Management from Berklee College of Music. Her greatest joys come from being surrounded by her loving family and dogs and also passing along the joy of performing arts to students all over the world.
