Orlando Ballet’s (R.E.A.C.H.) program is devised for interested students in middle and high school grades 6th through 12th as a creative outlet. Modeled after Orland Ballet’s original S.T.EP.S. program, this fully funded program provides students the opportunity to acquire comprehensive knowledge of dance as an artform. Participants study classical ballet, modern, musical theater, jazz, contemporary, spoken word and more.
Instructors guide students through the process of self-expression, problem solving, and finding their passion for the performing arts while leaving students with a well-rounded arts experience.
Students in the Orlando Ballet’s R.E.A.C.H. program meet twice a week after school, on school campus. We offer 18 classes per residency. Dancewear is also provided to every participant and attendance is compulsory.
At the end of the residency, a showcase of the works created is presented in a performance. Family and friends are highly encouraged to attend.
Our Fall and Spring performances reinforce the R.E.A.C.H. program’s intention and gives a transparent view of the skills and other great qualities students are taught. There is a sense of accomplishment shared between the students and their parents that manifests and carries on even after the year has come to an end.
It is proven time and again that fine arts correlate with academics, and should have more relevance in elementary, middle, and high schools.
By incorporating publicity with the recognition of arts in schools, these programs can thrive!
This, in turn, reinforces why programs such as the Orlando Ballet R.E.A.C.H. program is worthwhile for the teachers, students and families involved and can transform how dance is viewed by others.Show more
