Orlando Ballet is seeking a highly motivated Marketing & Sales Intern to support the Marketing & Sales team in the promotion and sale of tickets for the upcoming 23/24 season. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in marketing and sales, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the development and execution of social media campaigns to promote ticket sales and raise awareness of the upcoming season.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Sales team to create and distribute email marketing campaigns to Orlando Ballet subscribers and other interested parties.
- Help plan and execute promotional events to generate interest in the upcoming season.
- Conduct market research to better understand the Orlando Ballet’s target audience and identify new opportunities for outreach and engagement.
- Collaborate with the web development team to improve the organization’s website and online ticketing platform.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of printed marketing materials, such as brochures, posters, and flyers.
- Conduct outreach to local media outlets to secure coverage of the upcoming season.
- Help maintain the organization’s customer database, ensuring that subscriber information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Attend rehearsals and performances of the Orlando Ballet to better understand the organization’s offerings and provide feedback for marketing and sales efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., theatre, production, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and communications skills
- Familiarity with both Windows and MAC operating systems, basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to hit the ground running and take initiative to assist wherever needed.
- Ability to follow instructions well and have patience.
- Familiarity with and affinity for the arts, specifically ballet and/or dance.
- Familiarity with basic stage direction and terminology.
- Occasionally position involves medium to heavy manual work that involves walking, standing, pushing, and lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Applicants should be comfortable working at heights.
- Familiar with hand and power tools.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is crucial for this role. The intern will be working closely with various departments and stakeholders, including the marketing and sales teams.
- Social media expertise: Experience using social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and be familiar with social media marketing strategies to promote ticket sales and raise awareness of the upcoming season.
- Market research skills: Ability to conduct market research to better understand Orlando Ballet’s target audience and identify new opportunities for outreach and engagement.
- Graphic design skills: Experience in graphic design and be able to assist with the creation and distribution of printed marketing materials, such as brochures, posters, and flyers.
- Passion for the arts: Genuine interest in the arts, specifically ballet, and be willing to attend rehearsals and performances of the Orlando Ballet to better understand the organization’s offerings and provide feedback for marketing and sales efforts.
