JOB TITLE: Production Stage Manager

LOCATION: This is an onsite job placement at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre, 600 N. Lake Formosa Drive, Orlando, FL 32803
STATUS: Full-time, exempt from over-time
START DATE: July 2025

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Role:
Under the direction of the Director of Production and Artistic Staff, the Production Stage Manager is responsible for running all rehearsals and performances of Orlando Ballet’s professional company and school performances, both in Orlando and on tour. The Production Stage Manager will assist in all matters to ensure productions are in line with the vision of the Artistic staff. Orlando Ballet is seeking a driven, self-motivated highly organized individual, with a commitment to supporting Orlando Ballet in its mission to entertain, educate and enrich through the highest quality of dance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- General
- Completely understand Orlando Ballet’s Company Regulations
- In conjunction with the Director of Production, seek-out, hire, mange, direct, and mentor assistant stage management interns per production and/or season
- Serve as the communication hub between Artistic, Production, and Orlando Ballet School schedules, events, rehearsals, and performances
- Coordinate and lead meetings in person and through video as required
- Manage and train project managers and admins on the scheduling software Propared
- Performs other duties as required or assigned by Director of Production
- Pre-production

- Standardize and produce relevant Stage Management paperwork for all engagements
- Produce and distribute rehearsal schedules, adjusting schedules as required based on variables and artistic staff needs
- Organize and prepare rehearsal studios including but limited to audio, lighting, and wardrobe.
- Attend rehearsals as required, learning all production elements
- Create and distribute daily rehearsal reports
- Consult with designers/ choreographers on cueing and other technical needs, liaising with Director of Production and Technical Director to ensure all changes are feasible and communicated properly.
- In conjunction with Technical Director, produce and distribute master production schedule
- Upload rehearsal music to server as necessary, periodically purge servers of unneeded files
- Manage editing of music masters as required, organize and distribute master music files for show playback
- Oversee relevant in-theater personnel for archival video recordings of all company productions; manage uploading of recordings to storage media devices
- Coordinate with video editor in producing requested dancer videos and audition reels

- Attend all cueing sessions, interface with design team on all cue placement, documenting all cues into a calling script/production book
- Run all rehearsals & performances, coordinate all elements and call all cues for all departments
- Create and distribute performance reports for all Orlando Ballet performances and events as required
- Post-Production

- Oversee archival storage of all production department documentation, digital and paper copies
- Attend and contribute to all postmortem discussions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study, preferably Dance, Theatre, or Live Entertainment
- 3-5 years of experience in stage management
- Ability to read or follow music
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Proficient with scheduling software such as Propared
- Proficient with PC and MAC operating systems
- Have working knowledge of audio and video editing software (Qlab or similar)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently
- Be available to work holidays and weekends in accordance with the dancer, school, and production schedule, along with late nights and early mornings
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Works effectively in a diverse environment of artists, creative and management teams
- Demonstrates ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, in an extremely busy environment
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience as a stage manager for a professional dance company
- Certified for adult and pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED (or be willing to get certified)
