A Season Of Romance And Adventure
Romance and adventure await you in the 2021-2022 Orlando Ballet season! You’ll be immersed in Mowgli’s world of The Jungle Book, delighting in the stunning sets and costumes. The holiday tradition of The Nutcracker leads you on a journey of imagination and the classic story of Giselle plumbs the depths of unrequited love. The Premiere Collection will take you places you’ve never been before: Orlando premieres of Jessica Lang’s contemporary “Lyric Pieces” and Val Caniparoli’s fusion of ballet and African dance “Lambarena” take you on a journey through the sublime. Guest Artistic Director Jorden Morris will close the season with one of literature’s greatest love stories The Great Gatsby.
The Nutcracker*

Orlando Ballet’s enchanting annual favorite, The Nutcracker is a not-to-be-missed holiday tradition. The beloved story of a godfather’s Christmas Eve gift of a toy nutcracker that comes to life and transports Clara to a world of wonder. Patrons are carried along on a magical journey to a world of fantasy and fun complete with the Mouse King, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Mother Ginger.
Giselle
February 10-13th, 2022 | Inaugural Performance at Steinmetz Hall
The embodiment of romantic ballet, this touching tale of unrequited love, remorse, and forgiveness seamlessly combines music, movement, and drama. Giselle tells the story of a peasant girl whose ghost appears after her premature death to protect her beloved from a group of evil spirits. Orlando Ballet’s production will capture the mystery and eerie beauty of this exquisite full-length ballet.
Premiere Collection
March 17-20, & 24-27, 2022 | Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre
The Premiere Collection celebrates American artistry taking Central Florida audiences on a journey through the sublime. Three notable choreographers create a unique program that includes one world premiere and three Orlando premieres..Making their Central Florida debut: A concert version of “Lambarena”, a fusion of classical ballet and African dance by Val Caniparoli, “Confronting Genius,” a whimsical duet by Heath Gill and Jessica Lang’s contemporary masterpiece “Lyric Pieces”.
The Great Gatsby
April 28 – May 1, 2022 | Dr. Phillips Center
The Great Gatsby will transport you back to the Roaring Twenties through lavish and cinematic sets, choreography by Jorden Morris, with original score by Carl Davis. Mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby has a fondness for extravagant parties and beautiful women. As the sparkling façade of his world begins to slip, the solitude, fascination, and heartbreak that lies beneath is exposed. Experience the decadence of history’s most carefree decade as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great American novel unfolds through dance.
