We are committed to presenting live orchestral accompaniment rather than recorded music for our performances. Orlando Ballet’s 2016/17 season includes The Nutcracker set to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score (December 8-11) and Masterworks, a collection of works from the masters of music and dance showcasing our dancers’ artistry and athleticism and powerful live music (March 24-26). Our production of A Cinderella Story (May 5-7) will feature a jazz orchestra and future new ballet collaborations will involve musicians and the Bach Festival Choir. We are committed to and grateful for our ongoing relationship with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the leading orchestra in Central Florida. Last year, we also started a new partnership with Central Florida Community Arts which helped us further connect with local residents. We hope to build this further.

Orchestral accompaniment raises the bar and transforms the experience of watching ballet. We pride ourselves on collaborating with Central Florida’s excellent musicians and providing them with employment opportunities and the chance to perform with our world-class dancers. Incorporating live orchestral accompaniment is one of Orlando Ballet’s most expensive investments and the area we need the most support from our donors and sponsors to continue.

We need the help of sponsors and donors who also love music to help us fulfill this vision. The Maestro’s Fund is a unique philanthropic initiative for all music lovers. By joining the Maestro’s Fund, you can play a critical role in enabling the Orlando Ballet to present performances to the highest standard possible while deriving the satisfaction of listening to live music. Supporters have the chance to become part of a family of like-minded individuals who are passionate about having live orchestral music for the ballet.

“It inspires the dancers to have live music. It’s a game-changer. It raises the level of quality of the product.”
Robert Hill, Artistic Director

Orlando Ballet is Central Florida’s only resident professional ballet company providing an annual season of full length ballets, new works, and non-traditional programs, performing at the Dr. Phillips Center and in local venues. The company has been at the heart of Orlando’s artistic community since 1974.

“Outstanding, amazing Orlando Ballet! We are so lucky to have such incredible talent here in the city. Beautiful!”
Nicole Acquilano
