Kathy Ramsburger, CEO and President of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, announced today a $12 million dollar gift that will push forward the development of the third performance hall at the center. This third hall will be the future home of the Orlando Ballet and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. The new performance hall will bear the name Steinmetz Hall for its generous donors Chuck Steinmetz and Margery Pabst Steinmetz, who have been supporters of the Orlando Ballet and the arts in Central Florida.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Steinmetz Hall is expected to take place in May 2016, with the hall’s completion scheduled for 2019. The hall is part of Phase 2 development for the Dr. Phillips Center and is expected to cost $185 million. Fundraising efforts for the hall continue.
