2nd Year with Orlando Ballet II
Ashley Griffin began dancing at the age of three and later joined the South Carolina Dance Theatre where she studied under the Direction of Susan Rowe, who gave her the opportunity to preform in many leading roles such as Sugar Plum Fairly. At the age of 16, Ashley moved to Boston to continue her training at the Boston Ballet School’s Pre-professional Program on full scholarship, where she stayed two years and performed Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker. Ashley has attended Summer Programs at the School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell at the Kennedy Center, Chautauqua Institution School od Dance, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, Boston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet and the “ART of” intensive in Zurich, Switzerland supported by William Forsythe. Ashley was invited to become a Trainee with Orlando Ballet School on merit scholarship. She spent 1 year as a Trainee before joining as a member of Orlando Ballet II in 2017, where she has performed with both the Orlando Ballet Company and Orlando Ballet School in works such as Robert Hill’s Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Best of Broadway, Maestoso, Allegretto, Bolero, and Piano Concerto; Arcadian Broad’s Beauty and The Beast and Winter, Don Quixote, Raymonda, Paquita and American Hymn. Ashley is excited to continue performing with Orlando Ballet II alongside the main company for her second season.
