The Firebird & To Familiar Spaces in Dream

February 5, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - February 7, 2016 @ 10:00 pm

A Unique Mixed Bill

A unique mixed bill featuring a Robert Hill world premiere, The Firebird, an epic fairy tale ballet and orchestral concert work by composer Igor Stravinsky, featuring the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. The ballet is based on Russian folk tales of the magical glowing bird that can be both a blessing and a curse to its owner. A must see with breathtaking virtuoso dancing and music from a 20th-century genius.

To Familiar Spaces in Dream is Jessica Lang’s compelling original work with music by Philip Glass, John Cage, and Craig Armstrong. This contemporary performance includes a striking set of eight white columns representing the white keys on the piano. Lang’s choreography builds a deepening emotional current that, by the end, appears to engulf dancers and stage alike.
