Assistant to the Artistic Director
Joey-Lynn began her training at the National Ballet School of Canada and continued her studies at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School where she graduated. Ms. Mann danced with Ballet Idaho and Nevada Ballet Theatre before joining Orlando Ballet (then called the Southern Ballet Theatre) in 1995 under the founding director, Barbara Riggins.
Ms. Mann has performed the lead role in classical works such as Carmen, Coppelia, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, La Fille Mal Gardee, and The Nutcracker, as well as leading roles in Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, Serenade, Agon, among others.
Ms. Mann has been a guest teacher at ballet schools throughout the U.S. and Canada. She has also been on the faculty of Orlando Ballet School, served as the children’s cast director for The Nutcracker, as well as leading lecture demonstrations for Orlando Ballet School’s outreach programs. She is a certified American Ballet Theater teacher.
Since, Ms. Mann’s retirement from performing in 2007, she has worked as Ballet Mistress for Orlando Ballet and currently the Orlando Ballet Assistant to the Artistic Director, Mr. Robert Hill. This is Ms. Mann’s 22nd season with Orlando Ballet. Ms. Mann is continuing to embark on her favorite role yet, being a mom. She has a 9 year-old son, Jack.
